Project Reference B-2 : Walking Festivals
Walking is the most popular outdoor activity within Northern Ireland and is regarded by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board (NITB) as one of the activities which is categorised as a primary priority and is promoted by the Countryside Access and Activities Network (CAAN) through PR support to walking events and festivals.  This is to ensure that Northern Ireland is recognised as a walking destination to both domestic and out of state visitors and that there is an increased participation in walking in Northern Ireland.  The project will establish an annual walking festival in the Faughan Valley which will be aimed at both local people and tourists.
