RAPID consists of representatives from community organisations, local councillors, statutory authorities, the private sector and special interest groups.  The organisation’s mission statement is,  

“To halt the social and economic decline of the rural communities within the Derry City Council Area and to enable these communities in partnership with all interested parties to devise locally led strategies to facilitate sustainable social, economic and cultural development”.

Derry City Council is a district council in County Londonderry, Northern Ireland. The headquarters of the council is in the city of Derry on Lough Foyle.

Woodland Trust
Established in 1972, the Woodland Trust (the Trust, WT) is now recognised as the leading voluntary sector organisation dedicated to the conservation of the UK's woodland. The Trust’s vision is to see a country rich in native woods and trees, enjoyed and valued by everyone.

Woodland Trust’s aims are:

  • To enable the creation of more native woods and places rich in trees
  • To protect native woods, trees and wildlife for the future 
  • To inspire everyone to enjoy and value woods and trees
